Squirrel Eating Your Car Wiring!

We had a car in the shop that was towed in due to overheating.  We discovered an animal had chewed up the wiring in the right front corner of the engine compartment, including the wiring to the auxiliary coolant pump.  In addition the wiring for the air bag, ABS brakes, fog light and mass air flow sensor were chewed, damaged and broken.

Emissions Testing Program Changes for 2015

A number of significant changes have been made to the emission testing program for 2015.

New vehicles (2011 and newer) previously were exempted from emission testing for 4 years and this has been extended to 7 years.  For example, a 2011 vehicle due for an emission test under the old program won't need an emission test until 2018.

Will An Auto Hail Claim Increase My Insurance Premium?

The Denver metro area and front range was hit pretty hard this summer with hail. The hail was driven by strong winds causing even more damage than if it had fallen straight down.

Hail damage is difficult to see. In our general area, the type of hail damage we're seeing is being repaired mostly by a process known as Paintless Dent Repair (PDR).

The Latest News On Self Driving Cars From Our Audi Repair Shop

Last month, on our auto repair shop blogI wrote about how the development of driverless cars has spawned many crash avoidance systems that are now common in many mass produced cars on the road right now.  I also said it may be a long time before you can jump in the back seat of a car and have the vehicle take you somewhere.  Now I’m not so sure it will be such a long time.  Almost every week there is some new news about an auto manufacturer or Google or Apple getting closer to actually bringing a self driving car to market.
